Your health record, held for you
Medical Vault keeps a copy of your medical history so that you can read it, understand it and decide who else sees it. This is an early version of the service, and this page says plainly what we do with your records.
What we hold. The health records you bring us or ask an organisation to send us โ documents, diagnoses, test results, medications, procedures, vaccinations and anything else in them โ exactly as the source produced them, plus the structured version we convert them into. We also hold your account details and a trail of what has been done with your record.
Where it is held. With MedBackend, a certified medical records provider, on servers in Switzerland.
What we do with it.
- We store it, convert it into a standard medical format, and show it to you.
- We check and improve our conversion. When a record does not convert cleanly, people on our team may look at the original file and the result to find and fix the problem. They are bound to confidentiality and look only at what the fix needs.
- We fetch records from the organisations you ask us to connect, and keep them up to date while that connection is in place.
- We may produce statistics about how the service is used and how well conversion works. These never identify you.
- We email you about your account and about changes to the service.
What we do not do. We do not interpret your record, we do not diagnose, and we do not alert anyone about it. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we never give it to an insurer or an employer.
Who can see it. You, and any organisation you choose to give access, which you can withdraw at any time. The few people who run the service can reach it when something needs fixing or you ask for help; every such access is recorded. The companies that run our infrastructure handle it only to provide that service to us, under contract.
What you can see. Every record we hold, where each piece came from, and a trail of what has been done with it.
Your choices. You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your record. You can ask for a copy of everything we hold about you. You can withdraw this agreement, which means we stop adding to your record.
If this changes. The service will grow. If we want to do something with your record that this page does not cover, we will ask you again first.
By continuing, you agree to us holding and processing your health record as described above.
